Baptism & Confirmation
All our Baptisms take place within our worship services or directly after so that the one being baptized is welcomed by the congregation into the community of Christ.
Infant baptisms (christenings) are typically booked a few months in advance to give parents a chance to meet with the minister and attend worship.
Those seeking Adult baptisms are typically regular worshippers at Emmanuel. These services are also booked ahead of time, to allow the candidates seeking adult baptism time to complete a short preparation course. Adults also have the option of being baptised in the ocean.
There is no charge for Baptism.
Confirmations can take place as required and are performed by our bishop during a special service. Typically when teenagers who were baptized as children or infants come to a saving faith in Christ they seek to be confirmed as a public declaration of their faith, embracing the promises their parents and Godparents made at their christening as their own. A short confirmation course is offered to prepare candidates prior to being confirmed.
Sometimes adults who have embraced Jesus and were baptized as babies may also be confirmed.
There is no fee for Confirmations.
